What was happening?
Due to the vast size of their data centers, technicians were struggling to efficiently solve a ticket regarding a specific box. The main issues were around finding the correct data box and creating an internal route to tackle more of the present issues.
Role and goals
My goal and mission in this project was to design a new mapping software that combined the use of beacons and mapping technologies in an effective and efficient way. We kicked off the project with a discovery process, we held different interviews with stakeholders, data center workers and analyzed client data extensively in order to frame the challenges we were facing and the resulting requirements.

How I gave value to the project
I was able to combine and adapt the available technologies to create a real time map of the data center facility. This outcome improved the search time it took for workers within the facility to find a specific box, which decreased the time to solve and close a client ticket overall.

The bottom line
A more efficient way to find boxes and solve tickets was created, improving the technicians workflow and reducing the overall time clients had to wait for a technical problem to be resolved.
